Vigoroso protesto de personalidades inglesas, com destaque para Adeline, duquesa de Bedford e Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, pelo tratamento dado pelas autoridades portuguesas aos presos políticos saídos da revolução de 5 de Outubro de 1910, tendo mesmo suscitado uma exposição ao governo britânico, seguido de encontros e artigos publicados em jornais londrinos sobre o assunto, causando evidente incómodo ao governo republicano.
